PART 1: — CHALLENGE & CONNECTION (dudes only)

Deep in the Reef of the San Rafael exists a type of terrain that’ll put any man on his edge. Counrty meant to bring out the best in human nature. Part 1 is for the boys. Why? Because, let’s face it, the boys need it. Most of us are stumbling through manhood without a map. No elders initiated us. No brotherhood holds us. We've been told to "man up" while simultaneously being warned not to take up too much space. We’re trying to be emotionally in-tune, while not looking weak, and it’s just plain hard to know how to exist.

There is a sweet spot where strong and soft coexist, where we can stand in our dude-ness without apology while remaining connected to our heart. REWILD is designed to strip away the BS and free us up to reconnect with what matters most.

CAN YOU FEEL IT?

This foot mission (hiking ~9 rugged miles/day) is about working to reclaim what's been lost. It’s about coming into right-relationship with our masculine and feminine. It’s about connection, expression, vulnerability, and growth… as dudes.

We’ll do hard things, together, and drop our shields to learn from one another about what it’s like to be you. It’s a space to explore, connect, and open ourselves up to receiving new insights to bring back to our family, friends, and community. There’s no trails, no signage, no cell service— just your shoes, and the supplies on your back. All you gotta do is make it back to camp before dark.

RICH-uals, found in almost every ancient culture, help to make life rich. They have three common components across cultures:

1) Separate— create space between yourself and normal life.

2) Challenge— do something on your edge.

3) Incorporate— from the latin root corpus, meaning body— reflect upon the experience to engrain the newfound insights into your body and normal life.

There are many things we could call an Unplugged adventure. Ritual is one of them. An annual chance to to hit the reset button. To mark time, to celebrate life, to celebrate your journey, to dance away our darkness, to remember what we’ve forgot, to give meaning to this whole dang thing.

Rituals are a gift and ours involves deep time in nature, connection with other seekers, no phones, proper challenge, intentional space to explore and reflect, good sleep, quality food, and an opportunity to stand tall into the person you know you can be.

You leave with newfound insights, new connections, the courage to do what we know you need, and a less murky path forward.

It’s fun too. Money back guaranteed.

  • This adventure will follow a process that disrupts your holding patterns and temporarily shed excess layers of modernity that have built up and calcified our souls.

    1. Depart— with physical space, a clear distinction between normal life in the “plugged-in world” and ritual space is created as we embark into the untamed wilderness outside beautiful Salmon, ID.

    2. Ordeal— over 90 challenging miles and five epic days, we’ll press pause of the ordinary and drop the protective shields that tamper our spirits.

    3. Incorporate— from the latin root corpus, meaning “body” — with three immersive workshops and an ongoing space to roar, weep, play, and dance we will embody the deeper truth of who we are, why we’re here, and how we serve.

    1. Who are you? What are your values and core tenets?

    2. Why are you here? What is your purpose? Your ecological niche? Your archetypal identity?

    3. How do you serve? How do you show up in the world? How ought you best emit your unique frequency? Is it in alignment with your values and your purpose?

  • What all ancient rites of passage have in common is their intent to grow from adolescence to adult.

    • "Before you become a man, you must first walk through fire." — Apache Rite of Passage

    • "A boy does not become a man until he has met the lion and returned to tell the tale." — Maasai Warrior Initiation (Kenya & Tanzania)

    • "Sweat more in training, bleed less in war." — The Spartan Agoge (Ancient Greece)

    • "A man is not made by staying in the village; he must walk alone in the land of the ancestors." — Aboriginal Walkabout (Australia)

    • "A man grows by facing the storm, not by hiding from the wind." — Norse Viking Trials

    • "Go into the wilderness and listen, for the answers you seek are in the silence." — Native American Vision Quest

    • "Fortune favors the bold." — Ancient Roman Test of Virtus

    • Feel the ache—the one that knows that something is missing.

    • Know you're playing small.

    • Know stronger brotherhood waits just beyond the surface-level bullshit we call male bonding these days.

    • Feel that drumbeat calling them to something more real.

    • Are tired of holding back their full expression and power.

    • Hunger for connection with brothers who can both challenge and witness them.

    • Want to explore what healthy masculine energy actually feels like in their bodies.

    • Are physically ready to use challenge as the gateway to deeper work.

  • Let's face it. Most of us stumble through manhood without a map. No elders initiated us. No right of passage showed us. No tribal brotherhood connected us. We've been told to "man up" while simultaneously being shamed for being out of touch with our emotions. We’ve been warned not to take up too much space yet feel impotent when we don’t. We’re trying to be sensitive, while being powerful, and it’s hard to know how to exist in our changing world.

This journey is about reclaiming what's been lost—finding the sweet spot where strength and tenderness coexist. It’s about unapologetically standing in our power, remaining connected to our hearts, and generously bringing others along for the ride.

  • We begin as seekers—individual men answering a call. Day one takes us into the alpine with 20-miles of uphill biking that serves to break down the walls we've confined ourselves within. By nightfall, something shifts. The physical challenge cracks us open.

Day two pushes deeper (35+ miles). In the earned exhaustion, we find courage to speak truths unsaid. To be seen in ways we've craved but feared.

At this point in the journey a brotherhood has formed. Day three is layover day. With no destination we regenerate our muscles while diving deeper into our Selves, our squad, and the landscape around us. After pointed discussion and an immersive workshop, we let the day’s serendipities unfold as they may.

This isn't just about going out. It's about coming back.

THE RETURN - COMING HOME TRANSFORMED

Our journey culminates on Day four with a powerful homecoming ritual in Salmon, ID, at a riverside sanctuary. As we float down the river on the final day—physically spent but spiritually charged—we prepare for the most important part of any hero's journey: the return.

That night, we're welcomed back by the women, friends and family in our lives. The community will be gathered to receive what we've discovered. This ain’t no normal party—it's a sacred reintegration. Around the fire, through music, dance, and storytelling, we share our transformations. We're witnessed not as the men who left, but as the brothers who've returned—more authentic, more alive, more capable of genuine connection.

This ancient pattern of men venturing out and returning with gifts for the village isn't just symbolic—it's necessary. The journey means nothing if we can't bring it home, if we can't let our transformation touch those we love.

  • This isn't led by theorists. Our facilitators are walking their path. Men who are doing their own work, facing their shadows, and learning to dance with both their warrior and their poet. They bring experience in wilderness immersion, rites of passage, embodiment practices, and men's work.
